Obituary of Carl R. Kalemba
A Mass for Carl Raymond Kalemba, 61, of Fairfield, a registered pharmacist, will be offered at 10 am Saturday in Our lady of the Holy Angels Church, Little Falls. The funeral will be from Ippolito-Stellato Funeral Home, 7 Two Bridges Rd., Fairfield.
Mr. Kalemba, who died Monday at home, was a pharmacist for 21 years at the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey in Newark. Earlier, he had been an owner of Plains Pharmacy in Lake Hiawatha.
He earned a degree in pharmacy from Fordham University and was a member of the American Society of Health System Pharmacists.
An avid runner and cyclist, Mr. Kalemba ran in the 1986 New York City Marathon and also participated two times in the Harbor House Charity 500-mile bike ride.
He was a member of the Cursillo Family at St. Thomas More Church in Fairfield and served as a Eucharistic minister and lay reader of prayer at Our Lady of the Holy Angels Church.
Born in Passaic, Mr. Kalemba lived in Clifton before moving to Fairfield 34 years ago.
Surviving are his wife, Jean; four sons, James, David, Matthew and Daniel; a daughter Kathleen; a brother Jerome, and two grandchildren.
